Product Shot

Been fooling around with product shots since the start of the year.
This one I did with an Nikon SB-900 in a Lumiquest Softbox III on the left and an SBr200 off a white foamcore on the right. Experimenting with positioning the lights and mix and matching light levels has been a lot of fun

How many ways can you shoot the same subject

probably about as many ways as there are photographers....
again with the looking around you.... in this case a happy accident, almost fell in the harbour so looked behind me to avoid another mishap and hello... there was the reflection of opera house nicely framed in the restuarant window.

Light and Shadows

I took this one early morning on the way to work, I like the play of the shadows and the light.
I see the world as one big photo op and am continuously taking photos (even without a camera!)

Seeing the light

Over the last year or so, I've spent some time lurking around the Strobist site.... I'm still pretty average with the small flashes (no fault of Strobist as this has got to be the most extensive collection of information on using small flashes).

What it has done though is make me that much more aware of light .... hard, soft, color, strength, direction, smell , even the absence of... the effect on each part of a picture and as a whole . I like to think that awareness has pushed my images another step forward...

always treat the locals with respect...

some of them don't distinguish between tourist and LUNCH!

Seeing beyond the obvious

This was growing beside an overflowing trash can... if you take the time to look you never know what you might find...
